Cherokee Masonry is looking for a detail-focused Construction Superintendent to join our established construction company based out of Gaffney, SC.  Cherokee Masonry has been a veteran-owned business since 1984 providing lump sum masonry services for commercial, institutional, and other specialty projects. 
 
As a member of Cherokee Masonry’s construction team, you will be an integral part of day-to-day operations on one job site at any particular period of time.  Most project scope of work will range from $500K to $2M.  This position will be responsible that everything on a construction site runs smoothly and for being the point of contact between Cherokee Masonry employees and Construction site management.
 
 
Job Duties including:

• Coordinating daily tasks and creating schedules according to priorities and plans.  Ability to make changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery, and personnel.
• Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors.
• Uphold company safety standards and ensure appropriate safety measures are followed
• Emphasizing safe use of tools, machinery and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures.
• Resolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably
• Regularly report project status to Cherokee Management, site management and other officials.

 
Location / Travel:

• Job sites are mainly in Upstate, Midlands of SC and Western NC

 
Required license or certification:

• Valid Driver’s License

 
Job Requirements:

• Must have 7+ years of Masonry Construction experience.
• Minimum of 5 years in a supervisor or leadership role
• Ability to read and understand Blueprints, Building Drawings and Plans
• The position requires a background check and drug screening
• Tolerance for the physical demands of working outdoors for long hours
• Must be able to work overtime
• Must meet eligibility requirements to operate company vehicles
• Proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Comfortable using various forms of technology
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
• Able to lift-up to 75Ibs
• Bilingual (Spanish/ English) and/or OSHA training or certification is a plus
• Scaffold training and certification is a plus

Cherokee Masonry is looking for an Estimator to join our established construction company based out of Gaffney, SC.  Cherokee Masonry has been a veteran-owned business since 1984 providing lump sum masonry services for commercial, institutional, and other specialty projects. 
 
As a member of Cherokee Masonry’s administrative team, you will prepare cost estimates for masonry construction projects, manage the bid process and determine pricing of labor and materials.  Most project scope of work will range from $500K to $2M. 
 
 
Job Duties including:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Analyze blueprints, plans, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Consult with clients, vendors, and personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
• Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
• Present prepared estimates for use by management in planning and organizing project budgets.
• Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
• Use computer software to calculate estimates and evaluate a project’s financial feasibility.

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience as a construction estimator, preferably in Masonry construction.
• Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency with computer software for job costing or estimating.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Great attention to detail.
• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or relevant field is a plus.

As a member of Cherokee Masonry’s administrative team, you will be responsible for overseaing multiple construction project at any given time.  Most project scope of work will range from $500K to $2M. 
 
 
Job Duties including:

• Provide daily leadership and management for field supervision and subcontractors.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the status of multiple projects at any given time and oversee project schedules.
• Ensure that all projects adhere to schedules and meet company quality standards.
• Manage client relationships and negotiate future contracts.
• Schedule subcontractors and ensure timely follow-up.
• Prepare submittals, RFI’s and change orders as each project requires.
• Communicate project status updates with management and clients.
• Work closely with clients regarding project progress, project completion, etc.
• Must demonstrate efficiency and comprehensive knowledge in the technology and software tools used for project tracking and field management relevant to our industry.
• Promote a project environment that prioritizes safety, ensuring policies are documented, communicated, and implemented.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• 5 to 10 years related project management experience, or equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and related experience
• Demonstrated skills accomplishing a high volume of complex work, attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal skills, plus demonstrated ability to manage a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Basic math skills required, and must be able to accurately calculate figures and amounts
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable using various forms of technology
• Ability to resolve problems involving several variables with limited supervision
• Ability to read, understand, and analyze Blueprints, Building Drawings and Plans
• Sense of urgency and ability to respond to changing situations
