Safety

Health and Safety is a core value at Cherokee Masonry.

The safety of our employees, subcontractors, clients, and suppliers will always be prioritized over time schedules or profit.

Safety Leadership

Cherokee Masonry’s health and safety program is led by PD Patterson, COO and Co-owner. He has over two decades of health and safety experience in the masonry industry.

Mr. Patterson is regularly on all Cherokee Masonry worksites ensuring that all employees and subcontractors are working in a safe, productive, and quality manner.

All Cherokee Masonry superintendents/foreman have OSHA 30 hour Construction Safety, competent person Fall Protection, competent person scaffold erection, competent person crystalline silica awareness training, and are CPR/First-aid/AED certified. Every Superintendent leads toolbox and weekly group safety trainings.

This consistent safety communication directly with all employees and subcontractors is the key to Cherokee Masonry’s safety culture that complies with, and exceeds, standard government safety rules and regulations.

Safety Technology and Equipment

Cherokee Masonry provides leading edge technology in terms of safety equipment. Our company provides state-of-the-art scaffolding, harnesses, lanyards, forklifts, saws, and mixers along with appropriate training in an ongoing commitment to eliminate the risk of day-to-day injury.

“Have a Safe Day”

“We ask and continually remind all of our employees to have a safe day. We remind our family members to have a safe day. The simple statement to have a safe day makes people pause and really think about what that means. These people are special to us in our everyday life and careers. Our EMR (experience modification rate) of .77 is a quantitative reflection of our company’s dedication and focus on safety in one of the toughest trades in the world.”
